This simple steak salad is super easy, and impresses people with its burst of flavour.
Ingredients
Chosen piece of steak (I love sirloin)
Handful of watercress/rocket mix
Palmful of shelled pistachios
Watermelon
5-6 mint leaves, chopped
To make the glaze
1/2 cup Balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp honey
Method
Firstly mix the honey and balsamic vinegar together. Heat in a saucepan until gently bubbling, then summer for 10 minutes until it thickens. Do not boil. Leave to cool
Plate up the salad. Chop the pistachios and sprinkle over the leaves.
Chop a wedge of watermelon and cut into 1cm cubes
Rub steak with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and cracked black pepper. Cook steak to taste. I love mine medium rare and usually do 3 minutes each side (there’s a cooking guide below)
Cut steak and lay on top of the salad and pistachios along with the mint leaves
