I love Falafel and until recently didn’t realise how easy it was to make. I love Middle Eastern flavours and will usually choose a Falafel dish over a meat dish at a restaurant.
Here is a recipe for great tasting Falafel. It makes 3 normal size burgers or 4 smaller ones.
It took me around 15 minutes from start to finish
Ingredients
400g tin of chickpeas (about 230g drained and rinsed)
2 cloves garlic
Handful of fresh coriander
Handful of fresh parsley
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp chilli powder (I go for mild)
1 red onion. Chopped
1 tbsp ground cumin
Method
Drain and rinse the chickpeas then dry with a paper towel.
Place all ingredients into a food processor. Wizz until smooth and form in to burger shape.
Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan and fry for 3 minutes on each side.
Place on a lightly grilled flatbread (I love these from Sainsbury’s) or in a pitta with some lettuce and my homemade hummus and enjoy!
